Picked this up from an article in The Star: Football Section(dated 9th Feb '07)
There's a new phenomenon called Drogbacite. It's a cultural phenomenon in music and dance that shows NO SIGN of DISAPPEARING.
Few indicators of Drogba's fame acknowledged by his country:
(i) the popular one-litre bottle of Bock beer is big and strong, now is known as a Drogba;
(ii) a street in Abidjian has been renamed Rue Didier Drogba;
(iii) an interview with Drogba in the local Stades d'Afriques newspaper led to a circulation increase of 87%;
(iv) the most popular overseas club in Ivory Coast, which for years was Marseille, is now Chelsea.
When you've actually marked your country on the map, the recognition you get is overwhelming.
Keep on dribbling and scoring, Mr Drogba!
